Short Bio:
Dr Tsubasa Shinohara is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tsukuba (Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences). In parallel, he works at the Swiss Esports Federation (SESF) as a Human Rights Officer and Head of Legal Department. He obtained a PhD in Law and Master of Law at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and a Master of Law and Bachelor of Law at the Meiji University (Japan). His main research interests include international human rights law, especially “sports/esports and human rights”, sports/esports law, and technology and law.

In 2024, he passed the Zurich bar exam and qualified as a lawyer. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the University of Zurich, combining his expertise as a lawyer and information technologist in his research on AI, big data, and criminal procedure, and works as In-House Counsel at Recursive.AI in Tokyo, Japan.
